Multi-Factor Authentication is the process used to allow access to only authorized users by means of two or more different types of authentication. By using two different types of authentication, there is a higher assurance that you are the authorized user. Without effective authentication controls, it is possible for fraudulent users to access your account. CCU authenticates users by issuing challenges that only the true user should be able to pass.
With Multi-Factor Authentication, when anyone attempts to login to your account from a non-private computer or an unauthorized mobile device, we will send a One-Time Passcode (OTP) to a phone number or email address that you registered during setup. This OTP must be entered in the required field in order to authenticate that you are the user.
